The Anne Fund was established in 2005 by former Dutch Consul General in Istanbul, Jan Jonker Roelants, to give poor Turkish girls a chance to have a vocational training.
The Anne Fund has a partnership with the Türk Egitim Vakfi (TEV). One of the largest and oldest Turkish non-governmental organizations in education with over 40 years experience and 8500 annual national and international scholarships. TEV assists Anne Fund with the selection of students, following them during their training and ensure that they receive scholarships provided by Anne. TEV will receive no compensation.
Each year Anne Fund selects a number of students with the help of TEV from more than 50 applications. In 2009 the first nine students graduated. Every year 20 students follow a four-year training with the help of Anne Fund. Annually, the Fund needs 10,000 Euro for the education of the selected students.
The students come from various parts of Turkey and choose the education they want to follow. Most of them choose tourism, electronics, computer science, textile processing, administrative training and industrial designer.
